About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#134257) in the state of California, holding an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. I possess over seven years of clinical experience supporting a diverse population of clients in addressing issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma, work/school stress, and attachment wounds.

Originally from Baltimore, I grew up in a city saturated with trauma. People often experienced physical or sexual abuse, community violence, emotional neglect, racism, and various other traumatic events. As a child, I did not examine the effects of these traumatic events because survival was the foremost concern— a common response under these circumstances so trauma often goes unhealed. However, in adulthood, I started to reflect on the childhood experiences of myself and my friends, and I realized the effects of unhealed trauma showed up in various areas of our lives and they spanned across several generations. Suppressing emotional vulnerability, chronic depression and anxiety, substance abuse, frequent relationship conflicts, and harmful parenting practices were just a few of the adverse consequences of unhealed trauma. With new insight, I decided I wanted to contribute to interrupting the transmission of intergenerational trauma in communities of color. Becoming a therapist felt like the best way for me to do that.
